That's Mario in the purple at behind the counter |
Looking out of Mario's Cafe's doors.
I LOVE the colors here in London!! They are so bright and full of life!!!!
Found a little church on the way to the cafe
Selfie of me in the elevator at the Stay Club going back up to my room.
At the market there was A LOT to see!!! When we got off the Tube there were many store fronts that had their items for sale set up just outside the doors on the sidewalks. That left us thinking that this was the "Market" but it totally wasn't. Once we got to the street market it was EVEN LARGER!!! Over all it was like one HUGE garage sale that continued for miles!! As well, there was a lot a bit of everything! There were old book collections, I almost got one, Through the Looking Glass, but the guy selling it wanted £80 for it. There were various antique tea sets, china dinner sets, authentic silver serving sets, and cameos, many old cameras of different styles: from Pin Hole cameras, some of the kinds that looked like accordions, to polaroid and 35 mm cameras. (Pictures) I saw a store that had sewing machines - VERY OLD ONES - set up in their window as a wall of them stacked on top of each other. It was cool looking (picture)!! I had purchases a "hat" from a lady that was selling them for £20, all the other hat sellers were selling them for like £120 or more a piece (I looked). The I got two dresses, one was VERY short, but oddly enough EXTREMELY comfortable (I wore it to dinner)!!! The other dress was more of a "day"/summer dress that was a nude/green color with white polka dots and it came with this really pretty scarf.
If you can make out what he's saying.... It's hilarious!!!! He was one of the MANY street performers that we saw at the market.
We left the market around 4 PM, to go back to where we are staying to shower and get dressed for dinner by 6 PM. We met up with the rest of the gang down in the park that's right next to The London Eye. We walked around for a little bit looking for a place to eat dinner... A fancier pub like place or at an actual restaurant. We decided on "locale" and had to wait only about 10 minutes. During dinner we were discussing whether or not to attempt to go up into the London Eye then or wait until Monday (we have Monday and Tuesday off). We settled on going Monday night.
Check out this picture!!! LOVE IT!!!! Love all the colors that are in it!!!!
The London Eye!!! I'm afraid of heights.... but I can't wait to get up in there and get some fabulous shots of London!!!!
In the park that's by the Eye. It was weird to see some random people just lay down and take a nap in the grass? A picnic yes.... but to take a full on nap.... odd. Totally cannot do that in Ohio or anywhere that I'm aware of.
Where we ate dinner
London's Fire trucks
What kind of car is this? I LIKE IT!!!!
It's an Ashton Martin
This is called a "Shandy" it's 1/2 beer (blah) and 1/2 what the Brits call lemon-aide (but it's just sprite)
Erica and Jason had two friends from the University of Cincinnati that were in London for the night (or two days), so we decided to go and hang out with them and watch a little bit of the World Cup in a hostel. We got lost.... Then figured out where we were. Hayley, Nora and I stayed out for only a little bit longer and headed back to the Stay Club at about 10:30 PM
Next morning, Sunday, we have to meet down in the lounge at 7 AM. We are going to Oxford University! It's supposed to be an all day trip. So I'll have a lot more pictures.
